We have become an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory for the testing of half-face masks for protection against particles and for the testing of medical face masks

We obtained recognition of our competence to perform accredited tests (ISO 17025) by the Slovenian Accreditation (National Accreditation Body – NAB), full signature of EA MLA and ILAC MRA for:

• filtering half masks (FFP masks) to protect against particles – EN 149:2001+A1:2009,
• medical face masks – EN 14683:2019+AC:2019.

As a Notified Body (NB 2897), we are now able to offer manufacturers of filtering half masks a complete testing and certification service in one place.

The scope of accredited tests for filtering half masks covers all requirements of EN 149:2001+A1:2009:

– visual assessment,
– test of practical performance,
– test of total inward leakage,
– test of penetration of filter material,
– test of flammability,
– test of CO₂ content of the inhalation air,
– test of strength of attachment of exhalation valve housing,
– test of breathing resistance,
– test of clogging (dolomite dust).

The scope of accredited tests for medical face masks covers all requirements of EN 14683:2019+AC:2019, except biocompatibility:

– visual assessment,
– test of bacterial filtration efficiency – BFE,
– test of breathability (air permeability),
– test of splash resistance,
– test of microbial cleanliness (bioburdon).

Test of biocompatibility (cytotoxicity) is performed by Slovenian National institute of biology (NIB).
